Welcome to the homepage of the Institute for Multiphase Processes!
The Institute for Multiphase Processes (IMP) has appointed Prof. Prof. h.c. Dr.-Ing. Glasmacher, M.Sc. who has expanded into new fields of biomedical engineering and developed and established technologies in addition to the established fields of process engineering research. The focus is on applying basic process engineering principles to biomedical engineering issues. The IMP is currently mapping the complete process chain for the development of new products in regenerative medicine.

Lecture "Soft robot systems: opportunities and challenges"

Mrs. Rebecca Berthold will represent IDS with a presentation at this year''s VDI Mechatronics Conference.
The VDI Mechatronics Conference will take place from 23.03. - 24.03.2022 at the TU Darmstadt.
Mrs. Berthold will hold her lecture on 23.03.2022 within the session series 3 - Robotics from 17:10 to 17:30 in the Wilhelm-Köhler-Saal.
About the content:
In recent years, a large number of different robotic systems made of soft materials have been developed. Thanks to their low stiffness and the resulting flexibility, these are considered advantageous in terms of handling unknown objects or interacting with their environment. However, the development and use of soft robotic systems for real-world applications remains a challenge to this day. The systematic synthesis of soft robot systems requires appropriate tools for modeling the system behavior. The talk will give an overview of the potential of soft robot systems as well as methodologies to describe the system.
